During my running career I have participated in local races, right up to Olympic and International events, and have enjoyed every minute of it and now I am putting my experiences back into the sport. That’s why I am really proud to give my support to the Asda Foundation Grand East Anglia Run and am excited to continue my involvement with the dedicated management team and many volunteers that put this very complex and prestigious race together.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see people giving 100% to something they really believe in and in my job I see it all the time, the effort and commitment from runners is truly amazing. It doesn’t matter what your background is, running is a fantastic discipline and a great leveller that bridges all divides and guess what?… it is good for you! That’s why I am right behind anyone who runs competitively, socially, to raise funds, to keep fit or just for the sheer enjoyment of a wonderful athletic discipline.
This is the twelfth year of my involvement with GEAR and for the 2017 event I have put together some advice and training programmes for those who would like some help in preparing for the race. If you would like to get in touch with me, my e-mail address is below. Ryston Runners are also going to continue to arrange their popular training evenings from Wednesday March 1. Good luck, I look forward to seeing you at the race on the 30 April if not before.
