The Asda Foundation GEAR 10K relies on a large amount of voluntary help. Many people give up their morning on the day of the event to join the course marshal team, help out at water stations and staff crossing points or help at the Event Village on the Tuesday Market Place. Sometimes the event proves a useful project for prospective Duke of Edinburgh Award candidates or budding Sports Leaders and can count towards requirements for voluntary hours.

There are no shortage of jobs that need doing in order to make this the quality event that GEAR 10K has become. If you would like to volunteer your time to help out at the Asda Foundation GEAR 10K please contact us  with all your details and we’ll get back to you. Thank you in advance for your interest.

Whether you’re volunteering on behalf of one of our partner charities, a group or organisation or simply for yourself, Run For All are very grateful for your support and so are thousands of participants.

Who can volunteer?

Everyone is welcome to volunteer with us; as our name suggests, our events are ‘For All’ and this is just the same when it comes to our team of volunteers. The only recommendation we make is that volunteers are aged over 16 to volunteer independently (14 and 15 year olds can volunteer with a supervising parent/guardian).

What roles are available at Run For All events?

Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles including:

  • Start/Finish
  • Route Marshals
  • Senior Marshals
  • Drink Station Marshals
  • Baggage Store Marshals

You just need lots of enthusiasm and a positive attitude, excellent communications skills and to enjoy working as part of a team and you can help ensure a great experience for thousands of runners.
